St. George Academy is a small international day school and Early Childhood Centre centrally located in Nagoya Japan. We offer regular full time instruction to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 and Tutoring (Full or Part time) on a needs based system for older learners to Grade 12.
A Personal Education Plan is developed for each learner that is based on an enriched version of the critically acclaimed, internationally accepted Core Knowledge curriculum and considers each learner’s gifts, unique needs, home counties' educational requirements or exit requirements based on their next destination. Our school program is further enhanced by co-curricular programs such as modern language classes, co-ed ‘inclusive’ sports teams, special interest classes and events.
Our Tree House Early Child Centre offers young learners a safe, encouraging,
nature inspired environment to develop their education foundations, preparing them for a life long love of learning and equipping them with the skills and content they need to
excel in grade school and beyond. Using a mix of the best traditional and modern
practices in Early Childhood Education our Core Knowledge based, Montessori inspired program ensures a solid pre-academic/early academic program with solid assessment guidelines accepted world wide. Physical education, social skills and creativity are key points of this exciting program.
Our Teaching Management Team is composed of our Director of Growth and Development, Headmaster, Head of Primary, and Early Childhood Centre Lead Teacher collectively having over 50 years teaching experience! Our teachers, instructors and coaches hold a combination of degrees, qualifications and post graduate certificates from the United States, Canada, England, Europe and Japan. Instructors, Specialist Teachers, Parent Classroom Assistants and support staff bring further qualification and experience from around the globe making learning at SGA a truly international experience. Our usual instructional ratio is 8 ~ 10 students for every teacher/instructor with a Educational Assistant or Parent Classroom Assistant providing further learner support.
Our student body is composed of learners aged 2 to 17 years old representing diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds from countries all over the world.
Our individualized approach allows us to not only provided a first class international education but to also prepare our learners for their upcoming academic challenges.
